My Greatest Contribution

Past

When I was in grade school I thought my greatest contribution was I am one of the singer in a choir entitled  the story of "The Little Tree".  It was a musical play and we sang many different kinds of songs I thought sixteen songs in a row.  Actually, it was a christian songs that depict the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Calvary.

  Present

My greatest contribution to present up to now  is helping my parents in managing my parents business.  After school I go to my parents business and helped them.  It is my way of paying back of what they have done for me while I am still studying.

Future

I should say that my first greatest contribution in the future was.   When I would be graduated at the Bachelor of Secondary Education  in college.  My parents would be the first person to be glad when they saw me wearing my graduation dress.  It will give me also the pride because at least at that time I am not undergraduate.  I know to my self that if we strive to succeed and we had our goals set we can do it with God's grace.

The second would be when I passed the LET exam.  It would be my greatest contribution especially to my parents and it is also my pride.  We know that after four (4) years of studying in college we aim to passed the License Exam.  If I passed that better future for me as a teacher someday.

My third would be when I am on the field of teaching and my work is stable and doing it gladly.  I see my self teaching in public school  and having my own family.  I thought that when teaching would be my passion until when I grow old.

DEMO

Lessons Learned

It was Friday 10:10 am in the morning.  I watched the last two demos for that day actually they're three of them who has a demo that day but I just watched the last two final demo.  I just learned that you should first  conquer your stage fright and have a confidence to face your students and of course you should know your lesson very well.

I leaned that you should know or should I say master what your lesson for that final demo.  From your topic to the preparations for the materials that is needed for that day should be OK.  The topic should not be broad so the students will not be over loaded of information that they cannot remember what you have discussed.  When you give examples not only one but give them at lest five to seven examples and let them ask what they haven't understand.

When the students are not listening or not in proper order the teacher should also know how to handle them.  I learned that when it's my turn I will prepare all what is needed as much as possible.  From the lesson that I want to discuss and and all the materials for the demo teaching like visual aids or the projector that I should use.

MOTIVATION

Motivational  Theory

When it comes to teaching or beginning a class lesson it is better to set first your class or motivate them to set their mind on the lecture that you want to discuss.  We as becoming teachers in the future we should know how to handle our students.  We are not only teachers but also a role model to them.  Motivating the students like giving them a rewards or merits when they achieved their goals.  It is only one of my favorite motivation when I was in high school.

As I remember my teacher in high school we are motivated by the rewards, incentives and merits when we do our job well done and the goals that we set is achieved.  The privileges is like we had a trip out of town during our semester break.  When we finished our paces or sit works she gives us time to relax like we play games indoor or even board games it depends on you.  As I can see my classmates also is so eager to finished their set goals because they are motivated what the teacher has been done for her students.

There are also some  students who are self-regulated, self-determination and self-directed.  The best motivation of students is their own selves.  It is their self-actualization on having a self determination to study hard on their own without having the help of other people just to do their part as a students.

PROPER HYGIENE

PERSONAL HYGIENE

HYGIENE the things that you do to keep yourself and your surroundings clean in order to maintain good health

Personal hygiene involves properly caring for your body by keeping it clean and healthy while allowing you to look and feel your best.

Teaching proper hygiene to students is a very interesting topic.  The best way to teach them is first tell your students to bring the other day a box containing soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, towel etc.  Tell them the step-by-step the basic proper personal hygiene:

PAG-IBIG

Nag mamahal tayo kahit minsan nsasaktan at nabibigo kahit ganun pa man patuloy parin ang buhay.

The fallen 44 is our latest heroes.   Last January 25, our country was surprised and mourned for the 44 Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) which happened in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.  It was a very tremendous and shocking event of the year.  The 2015 Mamasapano clash was a hearbreaking news nowadays and their families cannot believed what happened to their loved ones in the battle field.  It was such a pitiful kind of death but because the call of duty.   They do it for our country and their life is not a waste because they fight and died for a cause. The whole nation gives sympathy to the fallen 44.

LOVE OF COUNTRY

How are you going to educate your students to love your country?

As becoming a teacher in the future. I will teach them or tell them how to be patriotic in my own way. I will tell them the history of our country. How many countries colonized it and how our countrymen defended their rights. Educating my students on how our heroes fight for their love for our country. I would tell them the stories of our national heroes. How each one of them fight until the end.

The Philippine history begins in Spanish rule of the Philippines began soon after the explorer Ferdinand Magellan discovered the islands in 1521. Magellan had been searching for a shorter route to Moluccas, the Spice Islands. Admiral Ruy Lopez de Villalobos named the archipelago Las Filipinas after King Philip II of Spain, and in 1565 helped to build the first Spanish settlement on the main island of Luzon.

The Spanish conquistadores reigned for nearly 400 years until 1898 when the United States defeated Spain in the Spanish-American War. As a result of the Treaty of Paris, Spain surrendered the Philippines, marking the end of Spanish colonial rule and the beginning of American control. In 1901, future U.S. president William Howard Taft became the first civilian governor of the islands.

American rule was interrupted briefly during World War II when the Japanese occupied the islands from 1941 to 1945. After the war ended, the United States granted the Philippines independence on July 4, 1946, ending nearly 50 years of American government.

Problems of education in the Philippines

LACK OF FACILITIES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

In public schools there are so many pupils/students not enough for the school facility.  We are lack of rooms and even teachers.  The government just give the lowest fund for the public schools so the output is not enough for so many students. "The Department of Education’s (DepEd) data shows that shortages in classrooms are pegged at 19,579, 60 million shortages in textbooks, 2.5 million shortages in chairs and 80, 937 shortages in water and sanitation facilities while 770 schools in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao are overcrowded." http://bulatlat.com/main/2013/07/19/shortages-lack-of-budget-still-afflict-public-school-system/

LACK OF TEXTBOOKS

Usually in public schools these are the scenario that we can see because of insufficient of textbooks.   The Philippine Constitution has mandated the government to allocate the highest proportion of its budget to education. However, the Philippines still has one of the lowest budget allocations to education among the ASEAN countries.

MALNUTRITION

According to Castro there is a serious need to address the number of out of school children. According to UNESCO’s data, the Philippines has 1.4 million out of school children. The Philippines is the only ASEAN country that is included in the top five countries with the highest number of out of school youth. The DepEd’s 2012 data showed a 6.38 percent dropout rate in primary school and 7.82 percent in secondary.

“The increasing number of out of school children is being caused by poverty. The price increases in prices of oil, electricity, rice, water and other basic commodities are further pushing the poor into dire poverty,” ACT said in a statement. As more families have become poorer, more students are enrolling in public schools, particularly high school. This, according to ACT, has exerted tremendous pressure on the smaller number of high schools. At present, there are 38,503 elementary schools while there are only 7,470 high schools. The group also blames militarization in the country side for forcing students to stop schooling.

Papa Kiko

What are the three things that Pope can help our country?  If there's none who can help our country and how?

I personally, I do not believed in Pope or in any Catholic bishops.  Because our relationship with God is between you and Him alone.  Pope cannot help our country but one thing that he can do for us is pray for us who believed in the living God.  Our faith in God is our strong hold that God and only God is the only answers to our prayer.  The leaders of our society who believed in God can help our country and build a strong nation-state.  The young people can also help our country who has a strong faith in God, who truly fears God and have a good relationship with God.  If one person has a right heart and God fearing, he can help our country in a better or even in the best way.

If the family stays and pray together  God will blessed and will always protect them.  A strong nation always start at home.  If every family has a leader who truly fears God the government  I think will have almost no problem at his governance.
